3M 9040 is a general-purpose double-coated tape. It features a high tack, high initial adhesion rubber pressure sensitive adhesive, a tissue carrier and an easy to remove siliconised paper liner.

- 3M 9040 tape has been developed for applications on various surfaces including low surface energy plastics like polyethylene and polypropylene. However, it is necessary to systematically evaluate surface compatibility before starting an application.
- The easy to remove liner shows good processing and die-cutting properties.
- 3M 9040 tape should not be exposed to organic or aromatic solvents.
